Ég hef starfað við förðun í yfir 20 ár og starfa í dag sem yfirförðunarfræðingur förðunardeildar Sýnar, hef gegnt því starfi síðastliðið ár. Samhliða því hef ég unnið að fjölmörgum verkefnum tengdum förðun – bæði fyrir auglýsingar og stærri viðburði. . Ferillinn minn byrjaði sem sölumaður snyrtivara, og meðfram því fór ég fljótt að taka að mér alls konar verkefni tengd förðun – brúðkaup, auglýsingar, kvikmyndir og margt fleira. Ég bjó í Stokkhólmi í 11 ár, þar sem ég safnaði mér gríðarlega dýrmætri reynslu. Þar starfaði ég meðal annars við sjónvarpsþætti og mikið í kringum auglýsingagerð. Það sem mér þótti sérstaklega vænt um við þá reynslu var að vinna með mjög fjölbreyttan hóp fólks, með ólíkan bakgrunn og þjóðerni – og sú reynsla er ómetanleg í mínu starfi í dag.

I have worked professionally in makeup for over 20 years and currently work as the Head Makeup Artist in the makeup department at Sýn, a position I have held for the past year. Alongside this role, I have worked on numerous makeup-related projects, both for advertising campaigns and larger events. My career began as a cosmetics sales representative, and alongside that role I quickly started taking on a wide range of makeup assignments, including weddings, advertising, film productions, and more.
I lived in Stockholm for 11 years, where I gained extremely valuable experience. During that time, I worked on television productions and extensively within the advertising industry.
What I particularly valued about that period was working with a very diverse group of people from different backgrounds and nationalities—experience that is invaluable in my work today.
For the past four years, since returning to Iceland, I have worked for Sýn, RÚV, and Borgarleikhúsið, in addition to a wide range of other makeup-related projects.
